Korea’s leading battery makers announced plans to unveil products and technologies for robotic applications at the upcoming InterBattery 2026 trade show in Seoul, signaling a shift in focus from the slower electric vehicle market.
LG Energy Solution will showcase LG Electronics’ CLOiD humanoid home robot and the Carti100 autonomous mobile robot developed by Bear Robotics, LG Electronics’ subsidiary, at the three‑day event beginning March 11. The company will also highlight the use of its high‑performance cylindrical batteries in both household and industrial robots and promote its all‑solid‑state battery technology for next‑generation robots.
Samsung SDI will present its all‑solid‑state battery technology as a key solution for various forms of physical artificial intelligence, including humanoid, mobile and industrial robots requiring high energy density, consistent power output and enhanced safety. The company plans mass production of all‑solid‑state batteries in the second half of next year in preparation for a robotics era.
SK On will feature Hyundai WIA’s autonomous mobile robot, equipped with high‑nickel ternary batteries for deployment at Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America in Georgia. POSCO Future M will showcase next‑generation materials for batteries used in humanoid robots, including silicon anode and all‑solid‑state cathode materials aimed at advancing robotics technology.
Korea’s three major battery manufacturers will also compete to attract energy storage system operators, with LGES promoting its JF2 DC LINK 5.0 system based on lithium iron phosphate batteries for Korea’s energy infrastructure, and emergency power supply technologies for AI data centers. Samsung SDI will unveil Samsung Battery Intelligence, an AI‑based fire‑prevention software, along with uninterruptible power supply and battery backup unit technologies for AI data centers and its Samsung Battery Box ESS solution. SK On will introduce its LFP battery pouch for ESS and a containerized ESS direct‑current block featuring electrolyte impedance spectroscopy for proactive safety management.

SK온은 현대위아의 AMR을 선보이며, 현대로지스틱스의 메타플랜트 미국 지사에 배치된 고니켈 삼원재 배터리를 탑재했다. 포스코퓨쳐엠은 휴머노이드 로봇에 사용되는 배터리용 차세대 소재를 선보일 예정이다. 포스코그룹의 배터리 소재 부문은 “실리콘 음극 재료 개발과 함께 모든 전고체 배터리의 양극 재료 개발 진행 상황을 소개하겠다. 이는 로봇 산업에 혁신이 될 기술이다”고 말했다.
