South Korean speed skaters Kim Min-sun and Lee Na-hyun will compete in the women's 1,000 meters at Milano Speed Skating Stadium in Milan on Monday, with the event starting at 5:30 p.m. local time. The pair will use the race to test themselves ahead of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic program, as the 500 meters remains the main event for both skaters.
Lee is 12th in the World Cup standings this season with 132 points, while Kim sits 18th with 108 points.
Lee set a new personal best of 1:13.92 at the season’s first World Cup stop in Salt Lake City in November, and she finished her season with a fifth-place time of 1:15.99 at the final race in Hamar in December.
Kim competed in four World Cup events this season, with a best time of 1:13.98 in Calgary in November; her personal best is 1:13.42 from January 2024.
Femke Kok of the Netherlands leads the World Cup standings with 264 points, earned through one gold, two silver and two bronze medals across five starts. Kok clocked a personal best of 1:12.36 when she won in Calgary.
Jutta Leerdam sits second in the World Cup standings after winning three of her four 1,000m races and finishing fourth in the other. Her best time this season is 1:12.74.
Also on Monday, the ice-dance team Hannah Lim and Quan Ye will perform their rhythm dance in the individual figure skating competition at Milano Ice Skating Arena. The pair made their Olympic debut with the rhythm dance in the team event on Friday, scoring 70.55 points. The top 20 couples out of 23 will qualify for the free dance on Wednesday.
Luger Jung Hye-sun, the lone Korean competing in luge at these Games, will open the women’s singles on Monday with the first two of four runs at Cortina Sliding Centre in Cortina d’Ampezzo, about 400 kilometers northeast of Milan.

두 선수의 주 종목은 500m이지만, 1,000m에서는 이 대회에 참가하는 다수의 선수들과 경쟁하며 기량을 시험한다. 이는 밀라노-코르티나 올림픽 대회에서 나중에 열리는 단거리 종목의 선수들과의 대결을 미리 가늠하는 자리다.
이번 ISU 스피드 스케이팅 월드컵 시즌에서 이나현은 종합 12위(132점), 김민선은 18위(108점)에 올라 있다.
이나현은 11월 유타주 솔트레이크 시티에서 열린 시즌 첫 월드컵에서 1:13.92의 새로운 개인 기록을 세웠다. 이어 12월 노르웨이 하마르에서 열린 네 번째이자 마지막 대회에서는 시즌 최상의 성적이었던 다섯 위를 기록했고 기록은 1:15.99였다.
김민선도 네 차례의 월드컵에 출전했지만 상위 10위권에 들지 못했다. 이번 시즌의 최선 기록은 1:13.98로 11월 캐나다 칼거리에서 세웠고, 개인 최고 기록은 2024년 1월의 1:13.42이다.

리듬 댄스에서 23쌍 중 상위 20쌍이 수요일에 예정된 프리 댄스로 진출한다.
이번 올림픽에 참가한 한국의 루거 정혜선은 월요일 코르티나 덴파초의 코르티나 슬라이딩 센터에서 여자 단식 대회의 4런 중 처음 두 런으로 출발한다.
