Korea Water Cluster, a government-supported industrial complex in Daegu, will host Korea International Water Week (KIWW) from November 12 to 15 at EXCO, the city’s main convention center. Operated under the Korea Environment Corporation, Korea Water Cluster is dedicated to building infrastructure and supporting businesses related to the water industry.
The cluster will operate a joint exhibition booth, host technology presentations, and invite international buyers to assist domestic water companies in expanding into global markets.
The annual KIWW is jointly organized by the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment, Daegu Metropolitan City, the Korea Environment Corporation, and the Korea Water Resources Corporation, with the Korea Water Forum serving as the main organizer.
This large-scale international event aims to promote policy and technology exchange between developed and developing countries while supporting the global expansion of Korean water companies.
This year's program focuses on smart innovation in water technology for a sustainable future, introducing AI-based water management solutions and exploring pathways for sustainable innovation in the water sector.
A special session themed “Next-Generation AI and Smart Water Technology” will feature five companies supported by the cluster, showcasing cutting-edge technologies in pipeline diagnostics, water quality monitoring, and seawater desalination.
The joint exhibition will bring together the Korea Environment Corporation, Korea Water Cluster, and ten resident companies to showcase the agency’s major water projects and outstanding technologies from cluster-based firms.
Participating companies include Koryo Technology, ENICT, Suwon Engineering, SM Engineering, BizData, and Sunsam Industry.
The cluster also plans to sign memorandums of understanding with Kazakhstan and Vietnam for on-site demonstrations and joint research. In addition, it will conduct one-on-one export consultations and project participation meetings with 12 institutions from Vietnam, Central Asia, and the Dominican Republic to support the overseas expansion of Korean water firms.
According to the director general of the Korea Water Cluster, “KIWW serves as a crucial platform for domestic water companies to enter the global market. We will continue to provide tailored export support and expand international networks to help small and medium-sized water technology firms succeed abroad.”
대구에 위치한 정부 지원 산업단지인 한국물산업클러스터가 11월 12일부터 15일까지 EXCO에서 한국 국제 물주간(KIWW)을 개최한다. 한국환경공단이 운영하는 한국물산업클러스터는 물 산업 관련 인프라 구축 및 기업 지원을 목적으로 하는 정부 기관이다.
한국물산업클러스터는 공동 전시 부스를 운영하고, 기술 발표를 주최하며, 국내 물 기업이 글로벌 시장에 진출할 수 있도록 국제 바이어를 초청할 예정이다.
연례 KIWW는 기후에너지환경부, 대구광역시, 한국환경공단, 한국수자원공사가 공동 주최하며, 한국물포럼이 주관한다.
이번 국제 행사에서는 선진국과 개발도상국 간 정책 및 기술 교류를 촉진하고 한국 물 기업의 글로벌 진출을 지원하는 것을 목표로 한다.
올해 프로그램은 지속 가능한 미래를 위한 물 기술의 스마트 혁신에 중점을 두며, AI 기반 물 관리 솔루션을 소개하고 물 분야에서의 지속 가능한 혁신 경로를 탐색할 예정이다.
“차세대 AI 및 스마트 물 기술”을 주제로 한 특별 세션에서는 클러스터의 지원을 받는 5개 기업이 파이프라인 진단, 수질 모니터링, 해수 담수화 분야의 첨단 기술을 선보인다.
공동 전시는 한국환경공단, 한국물산업클러스터 및 10개 입주 기업이 참여하여 클러스터 기반 기업의 주요 물 프로젝트 및 뛰어난 기술을 전시한다.
참가 기업으로는 코리오기술, ENICT, 수원엔지니어링, SM엔지니어링, 빅데이터, 선삼산업 등이 있다.
클러스터는 카자흐스탄 및 베트남과 양해각서를 체결하고 현장 시연 및 공동 연구를 계획하고 있으며, 베트남, 중앙아시아 및 도미니카공화국의 12개 기관과 1:1 수출 상담 및 프로젝트 참여 회의를 개최하여 한국 물 기업의 해외 진출을 지원할 예정이다.
한국물산업클러스터의 이재원 본부장은 “KIWW는 국내 물 기업이 글로벌 시장에 진출하는 데 중요한 플랫폼 역할을 한다”며, “우리는 맞춤형 수출 지원과 국제 네트워크 확대를 통해 중소형 물 기술 기업이 해외에서 성공할 수 있도록 계속해서 도울 것”이라고 말했다.
