Actor Song Kang made a highly anticipated return to the spotlight with his first fan meeting since completing his military service, an event that sold out within minutes.
On Nov. 8, Song met his fans at Yonsei University’s Centennial Hall in Seoul for “2025 SONG KANG FANMEETING ROUND 2 IN SEOUL,” marking his domestic comeback. The gathering sold out all seats as soon as tickets were released, underscoring his unwavering popularity despite a two-year hiatus.
Opening with a striking video that highlighted his trademark visuals, Song performed Delispice’s “Confession,” kicking off the show on an emotional note. “I missed you all so much,” he told fans. “I thought a lot about how to prepare for this moment after two years away. I told myself, ‘At least, bring your sincere wish to see them again.’ But now that I’m here, I’m so nervous and so happy.”
Hosted by veteran MC Park Kyung-lim, the event featured a series of interactive segments that kept fans laughing and tearing up in turn. Under the theme of “racing,” the program included a “Start Line Talk” session about Song’s life after discharge, a “Speed OX” quiz about his past works, games with fans, and a heartfelt “Fan Rally” where he answered audience questions and read their messages.
At one point, Song personally walked through the aisles from the second floor down to the first, handing out signed posters, which drew loud cheers from the crowd. His musical performances also left a strong impression: Yoon Sang’s “Run” brought smiles, while Nerd Connection’s “Good Night Good Dream” moved many to tears.
In return, fans surprised Song with a slogan banner reading “Ready to race again with Kang,” along with a custom cake celebrating his “Round 2” journey, expressing their love and support.
As the show concluded, Song expressed his heartfelt gratitude. “I was so nervous at first, but talking and playing games with you made me really happy,” he said. “Meeting Songpyeon (the name of his fandom) before returning to acting gives me so much strength. I’m always grateful — I hope I can be the same kind of support for you that you are for me.”
After wrapping up with a “Hi-Bye” session where he personally greeted each fan, Song promised to meet them again soon.
Following his successful fan meeting in Shanghai on Nov. 1, Song will continue his “Round 2” tour with upcoming events in Yokohama on Nov. 22-23 and Osaka on Nov. 26-27.
