Comedian and TV personality Kim Soo-yong is recovering in intensive care after losing consciousness during a YouTube shoot last week.
His agency, Media Lab Siso, stated that Kim collapsed during a content shoot on Thursday and was taken to the emergency room. He has since regained consciousness and is currently resting while undergoing tests and treatment. The agency emphasized their commitment to supporting his full recovery.
Kim, 53, collapsed suddenly on the afternoon of November 13 while filming in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province. Emergency medical personnel performed CPR before transporting him to Hanyang University Guri Hospital.
Initially in critical condition, Kim later regained breathing and consciousness and was transferred to the intensive care unit.
The news of his medical emergency has raised concerns among fans and colleagues as it spread online.
Kim made his debut as part of the seventh class of KBS comedians after winning a prize at the first KBS College Comedy Contest in 1991. He is known for his dry humor and deadpan delivery, becoming one of the most recognized faces in Korean sketch comedy.
In recent years, he has primarily been active on YouTube, featuring on popular channels and his agency’s own platform, VIVO TV.
