Four of the five major champions from the current season will participate in the upcoming LPGA Tour event in Korea. The BMW Ladies Championship is set to take place from October 16 to 19 at Pine Beach Golf Links in Haenam, located approximately 330 kilometers south of Seoul.
Organizers announced the field for the tournament, which is the only LPGA event in the country. Notable participants include U.S. Women's Open champion Maja Stark, KPMG Women's PGA Championship winner Minjee Lee, Amundi Evian Championship winner Grace Kim, and AIG Women's Open champion Miyu Yamashita.
Among these competitors, Lee and Kim are Australians of Korean descent, with Lee being the 2023 BMW Ladies Championship titleholder.
Additionally, several prominent Korean players will compete, including 2021 champion Ko Jin-young, top-ranked Korean player Kim Hyo-joo, 2023 LPGA Rookie of the Year Ryu Hae-ran, and former U.S. Women's Open winner Kim A-lim.
Former major champions Chun In-gee and Park Sung-hyun, both of whom have faced injury challenges in recent years, received special invitations to the tournament.
The tournament will consist of 72 holes and offers a total purse of $2.2 million, with the winner set to receive $330,000.
The LPGA and BMW Korea have been hosting the tournament across various locations in the country, with the first two editions held in Busan in 2019 and 2021, while the 2020 event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year marks the inaugural edition at Pine Beach Golf Links, a course renowned for its picturesque views and challenging layout, featuring greens and tee boxes along the beach and atop seaside cliffs.
BMW Korea has extended its partnership with the LPGA to continue hosting this tournament in Korea through 2029.

최근 몇 년간 부상에 시달린 전 주요 챔피언 전인지와 박성현은 특별 초청을 받았다.
72홀 대회는 총 상금 220만 달러를 제공하며, 우승자는 33만 달러를 차지하게 된다.
LPGA와 BMW코리아는 2019년과 2021년 부산에서 개최된 첫 두 회의 대회 이후 이 대회를 한국 전역에서 개최하고 있으며, 2020년 대회는 COVID-19 팬데믹으로 취소되었다.
이번 대회는 해변과 절벽 위에 위치한 여러 그린과 티 박스가 있는 파인비치 골프 링크스에서 열리는 첫 번째 대회로, 경치가 아름답고 기복이 있는 페어웨이와 험난한 벙커로 인해 한국에서 최고 코스 중 하나로 오랫동안 평가받아왔다.
