Protesters from ultra-right civic groups held an anti-China rally on Sunday, demanding the release of former President Yoon Suk Yeol, who is currently jailed for his attempted declaration of martial law.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., demonstrators from multiple conservative organizations convened at the square in front of Seoul Station in central Seoul and proceeded to march toward Namdaemun, also known as the "south gate."
Approximately 150 participants carried the national flags of Korea and the United States while chanting slogans such as "(former) President Yoon Suk Yeol," "nullify the rigged election," and "arrest (President) Lee Jae Myung." Some protesters displayed messages advocating for the destruction of China's Communist Party and wore T-shirts featuring phrases honoring U.S. conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Throughout the march, there were no reports of physical confrontations with police.
Earlier this month, President Lee criticized the anti-China rallies, describing them as "rife with profanity and hateful remarks that went beyond freedom of expression." He stated that such demonstrations do not reflect Korea's status as "a model nation for democracy that values diversity and inclusiveness."

일부 시위자는 중국 공산당을 파괴하라는 메시지를 들고 있었고, 미국 보수 활동가 찰리 커크의 암살을 기념하는 문구가 적힌 티셔츠를 입고 있는 모습이 목격되었다.
행진 중 경찰과의 신체적 충돌에 대한 보고는 없었다.
이달 초, 이 대통령은 반중국 집회를 비판하며 "표현의 자유를 넘은 욕설과 증오 발언이 만연하다"고 언급했다.
이 대통령은 이러한 집회가 "다양성과 포용성을 중시하는 민주국가의 모델인 한국"의 글로벌 위상과 맞지 않다고 강조했다.
