Son Heung-min has extended his scoring streak to four matches, netting a brace for Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) in a 3-0 victory over St. Louis City SC in Major League Soccer (MLS) at Energizer Park in St. Louis.
Son scored LAFC's second and third goals during the match, bringing his total to eight goals in eight matches since joining the MLS club last month. Notably, seven of these goals have been scored in the last four games.
Denis Bouanga opened the scoring for LAFC in the 15th minute. Just before halftime, Son received a pass from Artem Smolyakov, drove into the box, and executed a right-footed shot into the bottom left corner, capitalizing on a lack of pressure from defender Timo Baumgartl.
With this performance, Son and Bouanga have now contributed to 17 consecutive goals for LAFC, with the duo achieving three hat tricks between them over the past three matches.
Son scored again just before the hour mark, receiving another pass from Smolyakov and finding a seam past midfielder Alfredo Morales to shoot past goalkeeper Roman Burki.
LAFC head coach Steve Cherundolo emphasized the importance of team effort in facilitating the scoring success of Son and Bouanga. He acknowledged the contributions of other players, stating that the attackers' finishing reflects the collective work of the team.
When questioned about the team's reliance on their two strikers, Cherundolo expressed confidence in the broader squad, mentioning other players who have also had scoring opportunities in recent matches.
For St. Louis, Korean forward Jeong Sang-bin started the match and received a yellow card early on for a collision with LAFC goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, who was later replaced by Thomas Hasal at halftime.
Cherundolo praised Jeong as an "electrifying player" and noted the team's effective defensive strategy against him. He also expressed satisfaction in seeing Jeong and Son connecting after the match, highlighting the camaraderie between the two players.

체룬돌로 감독은 정상빈을 높이 평가하며 "전방에서의 수비가 어려운 선수"라고 언급했다.
그는 "정상빈은 훌륭한 선수이며, 열린 공간에서 수비하기가 매우 어렵다"고 말했다.
