<p>Swim, the latest hit from the K-pop group BTS, has surpassed 500 million streams on Spotify, becoming the first song released this year to reach the milestone globally, according to the group's agency.</p>
<p>The track from the group's fifth studio album, Arirang, is an upbeat alternative pop song about navigating life's challenges, with lyrics co-written by BTS frontman RM.</p>
<p>Released in March, Arirang made history as the first K-pop album to spend three consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200. Swim also topped the Billboard Hot 100, marking the band's seventh chart-topping single.</p>
<p>All tracks from the album have exceeded 100 million streams on Spotify, including No. 29, an experimental piece composed solely of the sound of the Sacred Bell of Great King Seongdeok. Other songs, such as Body to Body and Hooligan, have each surpassed 200 million streams as of this month.</p>
<p>BTS won three awards at the American Music Awards in Las Vegas, including Artist of the Year, with the group members expressing in their acceptance speech a hope that their music encourages listeners to keep swimming forward in any circumstances.</p>

<p>수상 소감에서 멤버들은 어떠한 상황에서도 음악이 청취자들에게 “계속 앞으로 나아가며 헤엄치라”는 메시지를 던지길 바란다고 말했다.</p>
