그는 최악의 시나리오에서 경영진과 노동계 모두 손해를 볼 수 있다고 경고하며, 이러한 결과가 광범위한 경제에 타격을 주하고, 기업 경쟁력 약화, 고객 신뢰 상실, 주주와 투자자 손실로 이어질 수 있다고 지적했다.
노조는 성과 기반 보너스 인상을 요구하며 5월 21일부터 6월 7일까지 18일간의 총파업을 예고했다. 일부 추정치에 따르면 5월 21일부터 6월 7일까지 파업이 진행될 경우 한국의 이 tech 대기업에 최대 30조 원의 비용이 들 수 있다.
지난달 삼성전자는 AI 응용 분야에 활용되는 고급 메모리 반도체에 대한 강한 수요로 1분기 영업이익이 57.23조 원으로 전년 동기 대비 증가했다.
신 의장은 재정 손실을 넘어 고객 신뢰와 공급망에 지속적인 악영향을 미칠 수 있다고 경고했다. 반도체 사업에서 시기와 고객 신뢰는 결정적이며, 개발 또는 생산의 지연, 납기 미준수는 핵심 경쟁력과 시장 주도권을 저해할 수 있다고 말했다. 그는 분쟁 해결을 위한 성실한 대화를 통해 건설적 노사 관계를 구축해야 한다고 강조했다.
신 의장의 발언은 국정 주요 인사들이 예정된 파업에 대해 우려를 표명하는 가운데 나왔다. 지난 주 문재인 대통령은 과도한 노동 요구가 결국 노조와 노동자 전체에 해를 끼칠 수 있다며 특정 기업을 지목하지는 않았지만 경고했다. 청와대에서 고위 보좌진들과의 회의에서 “과도하거나 불공정하며 자기 중심적 요구에 대해 공적 분노가 일면, 이는 노조 자체뿐 아니라 다른 노동자들에게도 해를 끼칠 것”이라고 말했다.
산업통상자원부 장관은 삼성전자의 강한 실적이 회사와 노동자뿐 아니라 더 넓은 국가 차원의 노력과 기여를 반영한다고 밝혔다.
노조는 회사의 영업이익 중 15%를 보너스로 배정해 달라는 요청을 제기한 것으로 전해졌다. 삼성전자는 1분기에 57조 원의 영업이익을 기록했다.
