POSCO Holdings was named Business of the Year at the 2026 Australia-Korea Business Awards, highlighting growing cooperation between the two countries in areas tied to global supply chains.
The awards, presented in Seoul, reflect deepening collaboration in critical minerals, battery materials and clean energy, while also showcasing a broader diversification of bilateral economic ties beyond strategic resources.
Winners spanned multiple sectors, including health care, financial services, infrastructure and tourism, illustrating expanding cooperation across the two economies.
Recipients included Woodside Energy and SK Gas for the Australia-Korea Partnership Award, Korea Zinc for sustainability and ESG, Novotech in life sciences and health care, Macquarie Asset Management for infrastructure and major projects, and Tourism Australia in the visitor economy category.
AustCham Korea noted the Australia-Korea relationship's renewed strategic importance amid global supply-chain uncertainties, with remarks from regional officials highlighting the bilateral ties' strategic dimension.
The ceremony was attended by senior government and business representatives from both countries, emphasizing the growing strategic and people-to-people aspects of the partnership.
Following the awards, AustCham Korea hosted its inaugural G’day R.O.K event, gathering about 450 guests from business, government and the community, and featuring Australian cuisine and a performance by an Australian-Korean musician, signaling ongoing cultural exchange alongside economic cooperation.
The AKBA, first held in 2010, resumed this year after a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
