President Lee Jae Myung pledged to ease the heavy concentration of wealth in the property market as the benchmark stock index climbed above 6,000 points for the first time.
He made the remarks during a meeting with senior advisers of the ruling party at Cheong Wa Dae on the day the Korea Composite Stock Price Index surpassed 6,000 for the first time.
A presidential secretary said Lee viewed signs of funds moving from real estate into the productive capital market as natural and encouraging.
The market milestone followed a surge led by chipmakers Samsung Electronics and SK hynix amid an artificial intelligence rally, marking the index’s progression from 5,000 to 6,000 points in about a month.
During the gathering, Lee emphasized that the economy and livelihoods are the government’s top priorities and reiterated a commitment to address soaring housing prices.

회의에서 이 대통령은 경제와 민생을 정부의 최우선 과제로 삼고 있다고 자문단에 재확인하며, 주택 가격의 급등 억제에 대한 의지를 재확인했다.
