BOSTON DYNAMICS' ATLAS humanoid robots appeared at Hyundai Motor Group's media event on the sidelines of CES 2026 in Las Vegas. The automaker showcased its latest intelligent robots, emphasizing the impact of physical artificial intelligence (AI) on daily life and worksites, according to a Tuesday announcement.
Hyundai set up a 1,836-square-meter booth at the Las Vegas Convention Center for the four-day event, featuring advanced robotic technologies. Among the highlighted exhibits was the next-generation Atlas humanoid robot, the canine-like Spot robot, and the Mobile Eccentric Droid (MobED), an autonomous mobility robot.
Two versions of the Atlas robot were presented. The Atlas prototype, designed for research purposes, includes sophisticated rotational joints and sensors that enable it to operate in complex industrial settings while efficiently executing repetitive tasks. It employs AI-driven learning for quick adaptation to new roles.
Hyundai Motor demonstrated the Atlas robot moving components between shelves, showcasing its capabilities. The commercial version of Atlas was also featured, equipped with fully rotational joints and tactile sensors in its human-scale hands to perform diverse tasks.
During a press conference, the director of Spot product management at Boston Dynamics presented the Spot robots amid live demonstrations. The event highlighted Hyundai's commitment to humanoid robotics and its strategic positioning within the physical AI sector.
Live demonstrations of Spot were planned at Hyundai's booth, which also included an archive exhibit detailing the evolution of the company’s flagship robots from research to deployment. Visitors were able to see the MobED self-driving robot, which features interchangeable top modules applicable for various uses, including golf and delivery.
Additionally, the IONIQ 5 robotaxi garnered attention at the booth. This Level 4 autonomous vehicle, capable of autonomous operation without a driver, integrates self-driving technologies developed in collaboration with an autonomous driving entity. Ride-hailing service operations are expected to commence in Las Vegas this year.
The exhibition also showcased the X-ble Shoulder wearable robot, aimed at reducing shoulder strain by up to 60% during repetitive tasks. A company official noted that technology presentations on Atlas, Spot, and MobED would be conducted hourly, offering visitors insight into Hyundai's vision for physical AI.

이 차량은 현대자동차 그룹과 자율주행 부문인 모셔널이 공동 개발한 자율주행 기술로 구동된다. 올해부터 아이오닉 5 로봇 택시는 라스베이거스에서 라이드 헤일링 서비스를 시작할 예정이다.
엑스-블레 숄더 착용 로봇도 전시될 예정이며, 방문객들은 이 산업 장비를 직접 착용해 볼 수 있다. 회사에 따르면, 로봇을 사용하는 작업자들은 반복 작업을 수행할 때 어깨 부담을 최대 60%까지 줄일 수 있다.
