The sci-fi disaster film "The Great Flood" has maintained its position at No. 1 on Netflix's non-English movies chart for the third consecutive week, as reported by the streaming service on Wednesday.
Directed by Kim Byung-woo, the film achieved 11.1 million views for the week ending January 4, significantly outpacing the runner-up, "Haq," which is an Indian courtroom drama that recorded 3.4 million views.
"The Great Flood," released on December 19, follows the story of An-na, portrayed by Kim Da-mi, a single mother whose apartment complex is overtaken by a catastrophic flood. The narrative centers on her struggle to protect her 6-year-old son amidst the chaos of the inundated surroundings.
In related news, another Netflix original, "Cashero," which features Lee Jun-ho as a civil servant with supernatural powers, ascended to the top of the platform's weekly non-English series chart with 6.1 million views, up from its previous week's debut at No. 2 with 3.8 million views.
"Culinary Class Wars: Season 2," which had been leading the chart for the prior two weeks since its release on December 16, dropped to No. 3, garnering 3.4 million views.
Additionally, the romantic comedy "Dynamite Kiss," starring Ahn Eun-jin and Jang Ki-yong, secured the No. 6 spot with 1.8 million views, while ENA's rom-com "I Dol I" ranked No. 8 with 1.5 million views.
