A K-pop boy band will release its eighth full-length album, "REVERXE," at 6 p.m. Monday, its first studio album in more than two years.
The nine-track record is led by the lead single "Crown," with other tracks including the winter song "I'm Home" and "Suffocate," which depicts the pain of a breakup.
The release features six members — Suho, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, Sehun and Lay — while Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin will not participate in the album due to an ongoing contract dispute.
"Crown" is described as a hard dance track blending Atlanta-style trap drums, heavy metal guitar riffs and EDM synthesizers. Its lyrics express a desperate vow to protect a precious person, using the metaphor of a crown.
A music video for the lead single will be released on the group's official YouTube channel on the same day. The video features choreography in which the members symbolically depict seizing and placing a crown upon their heads.
The nine-member group had been on hiatus since members began their military enlistments in 2019. Sehun was the last to complete his service in September. The group resumed activities with a meet-and-greet event for fans in December.

"Crown"은 애틀랜타 스타일의 트랩 드럼, 강렬한 메탈 기타 리프, EDM 신디사이저를 결합한 하드 댄스 트랙으로 묘사된다. 가사는 소중한 이를 지키겠다는 절박한 다짐을 왕관이라는 은유로 표현한다.
동일한 날, 리드 싱글의 뮤직비디오가 공식 유튜브 채널에서 공개된다. 영상에는 멤버들이 왕관을 머리에 얹는 모습을 상징적으로 묘사하는 안무가 담겨 있다고 전해진다.
아홉 멤버로 구성된 그룹은 2019년 멤버들의 군 입대 시작 이후 활동이 중단된 상태였다. 세훈이 지난 9월 마지막으로 병역 의무를 마쳤다. 그룹은 12월 팬들과의 만남 행사를 통해 활동을 재개했다.
