Korean battery maker LG Energy Solution Ltd. announced on Monday that it has entered into a battery supply agreement valued at 2.06 trillion won (approximately US$1.39 billion) with Mercedes-Benz AG.
The supply agreement is set to commence in March 2028 and will extend until June 2035, according to a regulatory filing by LG Energy Solution.
This contract represents 8 percent of the company's projected annual sales of 25.6 trillion won for the year 2024.
The batteries supplied under this agreement will be distributed in the North American and European markets.
LG Energy Solution noted that the contract volume, duration, and other terms may be subject to change based on agreements with the client.

한국의 배터리 제조업체 LG 에너지 솔루션이 지난 월요일 메르세데스-벤츠와 2조 6천억 원(약 13억 9천만 달러) 규모의 배터리 공급 계약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
공급은 2028년 3월에 시작되어 2035년 6월까지 이어질 예정이며, LG 에너지 솔루션은 규제 보고서를 통해 이와 같이 전했다.
이번 계약의 물량은 2024년 회사 연간 매출 25조 6천억 원의 8%에 해당한다.
배터리는 북미 및 유럽 시장에 공급될 예정이다.
LG 에너지 솔루션은 "계약의 물량, 기간 및 기타 조건은 고객과의 합의에 따라 변경될 수 있다"고 덧붙였다.
