The story unfolds in Padua, northeastern Italy, where Baptista has two daughters: the sought-after Bianca and her elder sister Katherina, known as the titular "shrew." Multiple suitors are interested in marrying Bianca, but their father insists that Katherina must marry first.
No monologues are required for the auditions; however, actors are encouraged to become familiar with the play and the audition sides available on the SSC website.
The SSC is particularly interested in actors who excel in ensemble work, as effective comic timing and the ability to interact well with fellow performers are crucial for this production. Auditions will be conducted in groups to allow producers to assess actors' chemistry with one another.
Auditions are scheduled to take place at Hive Yangjae from 1 to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, with callbacks set for December 13. The play is expected to be performed in April and May of the following year.
