LS Electric has secured a significant power infrastructure contract valued at 110 billion won ($75.37 million) for an artificial intelligence (AI) data center in North America, as announced on Monday.
The company will provide its transformers and a range of other power supply solutions over two years, commencing in 2026, to an undisclosed client in the United States.
This project aims to establish the necessary power infrastructure for an AI data center in the region. LS Electric anticipates obtaining similar contracts from global clients due to the rapid growth of AI services and data centers.
This announcement follows a recent contract win for supplying switchgears and transformers to a data center in Tennessee, valued at 132.9 billion won, which was awarded by an AI technology firm in the U.S. Under this contract, LS Electric will deliver its power solutions until April 2026.
An official from LS Electric stated, “We have been recognized for our technological excellence and reliability from our global client.” The company expects to expand its business in North America, where there is a rising demand for power infrastructures driven by the increasing popularity of AI and cloud services.
LS Electric also emphasized the importance of this achievement, particularly in light of the challenging market conditions stemming from U.S. tariffs and an unstable global supply chain.
The official added, “LS Electric will continue to closely enhance our alliance with global partners and secure price competitiveness to elevate our global footing.”
