This event served as the season finale for the domestic tour, and it may be Hwang's last win in South Korea for some time as she prepares to join the U.S. LPGA Tour next year.
Hwang earned her LPGA card by winning the Lotte Championship in Hawaii as a nonmember. She has expressed her ambition to reach No. 1 in the world rankings and to secure an Olympic gold medal.
In the latest rankings, Kim Hyo-joo remains the top South Korean player at No. 8, while Kim Sei-young has moved up to No. 11. Both players have secured victories on the LPGA Tour this season.
