Despite a strong performance from starter Ryan Weiss, who delivered 7 2/3 innings of one-run ball, the bullpen faltered, allowing six runs in the final 1 1/3 innings of the game.
As the team prepares for the next game, Kim indicated that most pitchers would be available to play, excluding only Weiss and Cody Ponce, who started the previous game. Ryu, despite struggling in his Game 2 outing, has expressed readiness to pitch.
"He's told the staff he will be ready to pitch," Kim stated during a pregame media session. "We will see how the game plays out."
Ryu, a former major league All-Star, has experience in relief appearances, having made nine such outings in KBO regular seasons and two out of his eight postseason appearances in relief. His willingness to pitch in this capacity highlights the current challenges facing the Eagles' bullpen, which struggled significantly in their last game.
