Chey Tae-won, the chief of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), has extended a congratulatory letter to Japan's new Prime Minister, Sanae Takaichi, as announced by the business lobby on Wednesday.
In the letter sent on Tuesday, Chey expressed confidence that Prime Minister Takaichi's leadership will invigorate Japan and foster progress in neighboring countries and regions.
Chey highlighted the significance of bilateral cooperation in creating synergy to tackle challenges posed by rapidly changing global trade conditions.
Additionally, he invited Takaichi to the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) CEO Summit, which will be hosted by the KCCI next week in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province. Chey, who also serves as the chairman of SK Group, will preside over the event.
This major business forum, occurring alongside the APEC summit, is expected to gather leaders from APEC economies and global companies, including notable figures such as Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, Amazon Web Services CEO Matt Garman, and Kristalina Georgieva, managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

최 회장은 화요일에 보내진 편지에서 "타카이치 총리의 리더십이 일본을 활성화하고 이웃 국가 및 지역의 발전에 기여할 것이라 확신한다"고 말했다.
그는 또한 급변하는 글로벌 무역 환경에서 발생하는 도전에 대응하기 위한 시너지를 창출하기 위해 양국 협력의 중요성을 강조했다.
최 회장은 다음 주 경상북도 경주에서 KCCI가 주최하는 아시아태평양경제협력체(APEC) CEO 서밋에 타카이치를 초대했다. 최 회장은 KCCI 회장으로서 이 행사에서 주재할 예정이다.
APEC 정상회의에 부대행사로 열리는 이번 주요 비즈니스 포럼에는 엔비디아 CEO 젠슨 황, 아마존 웹 서비스 CEO 맷 가르만, 국제통화기금(IMF) 전무이사 크리스탈리나 게오르기에바 등 APEC 경제와 글로벌 기업의 리더들이 참석할 예정이다.
