K-pop boy band EXO will resume group activities at the end of the year after all its members completed their mandatory military service, as announced by its agency.
SM Entertainment confirmed that the nine-member group will hold a meet-and-greet for fans at Inspire Arena in Incheon, just west of Seoul, on December 13-14, before releasing its eighth full-length album in the first quarter of next year.
This will mark EXO's first group project in approximately two years since the release of its seventh studio album, "Exist," in 2023.
However, only six members — Suho, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, Sehun, and Lay — will participate in the upcoming fan event and album. Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin will also be involved amidst an ongoing contract dispute with the agency.
During the two-day event, EXO is set to perform its hit songs and premiere new songs from the upcoming album.
The band has been on hiatus from group projects since members began their military enlistments in 2019, with Xiumin and D.O. being the first to enlist, and Sehun being the last to complete his service last month.

SM 엔터테인먼트에 따르면, 9인조 그룹은 12월 13일과 14일 인천의 인스파이어 아레나에서 팬들과의 만남을 가지며, 내년 1분기에 여덟 번째 정규 앨범을 출시할 예정이다.
이번은 EXO가 2023년 발매된 일곱 번째 스튜디오 앨범 "Exist" 이후 약 2년 만에 진행하는 그룹 프로젝트이다.
소속사에 따르면, 다가오는 팬 이벤트와 앨범에는 수호, 찬열, 디오, 카이, 세훈, 레이의 6명만 참여할 예정이다.
첸, 백현, 시우민은 회사와의 계약 분쟁 중에도 참여할 계획이다.
이번 이틀 간의 행사에서 EXO는 히트곡들을 공연하고, 새 앨범의 새로운 곡들을 처음으로 선보일 예정이다.
이 그룹은 2019년 시우민과 디오의 군 입대가 시작된 이후 그룹 프로젝트 활동을 중단했으며, 세훈이 지난달 마지막으로 복무를 마쳤다.
