Hana Financial Group has entered into a business agreement with the Financial Supervisory Service, the North Chungcheong Province government, and the province’s education office to enhance financial education programs for youth and financially vulnerable groups in the area, as announced on Monday.
During the signing ceremony, the Chairman of Hana Financial Group, Ham Young-joo, expressed the company's commitment to providing comprehensive and effective financial education, stating, "We aim to expand a range of tailored programs specifically designed for children and teenagers."
Lee Bok-hyun, the governor of the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS), emphasized the importance of finance in everyday life and society, noting that it serves as more than just a tool for economic activities. He expressed hope that the agreement would initiate the establishment of a financial education ecosystem in the North Chungcheong region, which has historically had limited access to such educational resources compared to the capital area and its surroundings.
As part of the agreement, a new initiative named the “Children’s Financial Education Program” will be launched to address the specific needs of young learners in the region.

체결식에서 하나금융그룹의 회장인 함영주 씨는 "어린이와 청소년을 위해 특별히 설계된 다양한 맞춤형 프로그램을 확대할 계획"이라며 포괄적이고 효과적인 교육을 제공하겠다고 다짐했다.
이 자리에 참석한 금융감독원 김규동 원장은 금융이 경제 활동의 도구일 뿐만 아니라 개인의 일상생활과 사회를 형성하는 데 중요한 역할을 한다고 강조했다. 그는 "이번 협약이 수도권 및 그 주변에 비해 금융 교육 접근이 더 제한적인 충청북도 지역에서 금융 교육 생태계 구축의 시작이 되기를 바란다"라고 말했다.
협약에 따라 '어린이 금융 교육'이라는 새로운 이니셔티브가 추진될 예정이다.
