[Today’s K-pop] Illit amasses 400m Spotify streams with ‘Magnetic’ in record time

Belift Lab announced that Illit's debut song "Magnetic" has garnered an impressive 400 million streams on Spotify, setting a record for the fastest achievement by a debut single from a K-pop group, achieved in 176 days. This rookie group has also broken records for K-pop girl groups by reaching milestones of 100, 200, and 300 million plays on Spotify. "Magnetic" from Illit's first EP "Super Real Me" not only dominated music charts domestically and internationally but also made history by entering both Billboard's Hot 100 and the UK's Official Singles Top 100, securing the No. 91 and No. 80 spots, respectively. The group is reportedly preparing for a comeback in October following the completion of a music video shoot. In other K-pop news, it was announced that Twice will be celebrating its ninth debut anniversary with a fan meetup event in Seoul next month called "Home 9round." Tzuyu from Twice has recently released her first solo album "Aboutzu," which debuted at No. 19 on the Billboard 200 chart, while the group's subunit Misamo, consisting of Mina, Sana, and Momo, is set to release its second EP "Haute Couture" on Nov. 6. Moreover, BTS' RM collaborated with Megan Thee Stallion on the track "Neva Play," which landed on Billboard's Hot 100 at No. 36, marking RM's second solo appearance on the chart.
