<br><hr><br>Korea Football Association(KFA)은 홍명보를 교체하기 위한 구단장 후보를 다음 달부터 모집하기 시작했다. 월드컵 32강 탈락이 벌써 끝나기도 전에 새로운 감독을 찾고 있다는 점은 그다지 좋은 신호는 아니다.
2-1로 체코를 상대로 이겼던 때를 떠올리게 하는 시점에서 태극전사들이 월드컵에서 진정한 인상을 남길 수 있을지에 대한 기대가 컸다. 그러나 이후에는 두 차례 부진한 경기와 멕시코와 남아프리카 공화국에 연이어 1-0 패배가 잇따랐다.
그 모습의 성격은 실망스러웠다. 지고 않으려는 보수적인 전술로 경기를 끌고 가다가 결국 패배하는 모습이 반복됐다. 대회의 비교적 쉬운 조에서 벗어나지 못한 것은 재능만으로는 충분하지 않다. 자랑스러운 국가는 팀이 필요하다.

또한 한국 축구의 새로운 정체성을 정하는 계기가 될 수도 있다. 최근 멕시코에서의 실패에서 한국 축구에 변화를 필요로 한다는 분위기가 형성되었다. 포스테골루는 분명히 큰 변화를 가져오고 선수들, 언론, 팬들에게 확신 있는 플레이 스타일을 제시할 것이다.
호주 출신 감독은 국내에서 여러 타이틀을 차지한 뒤 2015년 아시안컵에서 호주 대표팀을 이끌고 호주를 우승으로 이끌며 한국을 결승에서 defeat했다. 이후 일본으로 이동해 요코하마 F. 마리노스를 15년 만에 J리그 우승으로 이끌었고, 스코틀랜드로 옮겨 글래스고스(Celtic) 팬들의 영웅이 되었으며, 이후 잉글랜드 토트넘으로 이적했다가 노샤틀리 판타지의 짧은 시절을 보냈다.
그는 여전히 수요가 많다. 스코틀랜드 역시 실망스러운 월드컵을 겪은 상황에서 그의 서비스를 원한다는 보도가 있으며, 카자흐스탄도 관심을 보이고 있다. 다만 그 직업들이 포스테골루의 포부에 매력적이지 않을 가능성이 있다. 일본의 손길이 다가올 수 있다.
