<p>In a Facebook post commemorating Constitution Day, Lee noted that the threat to democracy is not merely in the past but could recur, urging vigilance in the Republic of Korea. He cited Korea's history as a demonstration of the enduring spirit of popular sovereignty enshrined in the Constitution.</p>
<p>Lee highlighted the recently launched presidential Committee of Light, designed to honor those who contributed to protecting the Constitution and democracy. The committee, limited to 35 members including constitutional law and democracy experts, will set directions for promoting Korea's participatory democracy and issue certificates to individuals who aided democracy during martial law.</p>
<p>He stated that records of the Light Revolution would be systematically collected and preserved to help spread Korean democracy as a global model. A ceremony to mark the committee's launch was planned at Cheong Wa Dae, with a certificate of appreciation to be presented to participants at the event.</p>
