Maggie Kang, storyboard artist and writer of "KPop Demon Hunters," celebrates winning the Oscar for Best Animated Feature at a Vanity Fair Oscar Party in Los Angeles, March 15.
Oscar-winning director Maggie Kang has signed with a Korean entertainment agency to launch her activities in Korea, according to the agency on Thursday.
The agency said it plans to launch various projects with Kang, noting her global sensibility and creativity, and will support her work promoting Korea-related content to a global audience.
Kang is a Korean Canadian filmmaker who co-directed a widely acclaimed animated film released on a major streaming platform, which won the Oscar and Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature.
The agency will oversee Kang's activities in Korea. Actor Ahn Hyo-seop, who voiced Jinu, the charismatic leader of the Saja Boys, is also represented by the agency.
Kang's overseas activities will be handled by her U.S.-based agency.

"세계적 감성과 창의성을 지닌 매기 강과 함께 다양한 프로젝트를 선보일 계획이며, 한국 관련 콘텐츠를 세계에 알리는 활동을 전폭적으로 지원하겠다"라고 해당 기관은 성명에서 밝혔다.
한국계 캐나다인인 강은 넷플릭스의 호평을 받은 애니메이션 영화 'KPop Demon Hunters'를 공동 감독했고, 이 작품은 최우수 애니메이션 피처 부문에서 오스카상과 골든글로브를 수상했다.
한국 내 활동은 해당 에이전시가 관리한다. 지누 역으로 음성 연기를 맡은 배우 안효섭도 이 에이전시의 소속이다. 감독의 해외 활동은 미국에 기반한 다른 에이전시가 담당한다.
