Iron Heads Golf Club, a team competing in LIV Golf led by Korean-born veterans, has been renamed Korean Golf Club for the upcoming season. The rebranding was announced by LIV Golf, a breakaway tour backed by Saudi Arabia, which stated that the new name "reflects Korea's growing influence on global golf culture."
LIV Golf emphasized that the brand of Korean Golf Club focuses on honor, inclusivity, and collective strength. The organization noted that the name is inspired by a Korean concept of brotherhood, which embodies respect, trust, and guidance within close relationships, celebrating unity and the connective power of golf.
The league tracks individual and team standings, with each team featuring a captain and three additional members. In 2025, Korean American Kevin Na captained Iron Heads Golf Club, which included players such as Danny Lee, Jang Yu-bin, and Jinichiro Kozuma. The team finished last among 13 teams that year, with Jang losing his LIV Golf spot after ranking 53rd in the player standings, placing him in the "drop zone."
Kim Si-woo, a four-time PGA Tour winner from Korea, had been rumored to be joining LIV Golf but has committed to the PGA Tour's season opener, the Sony Open. While Korean Golf Club did not announce any player signings recently, there remains the possibility of adding a Korean national before the new season commences on February 7 in Riyadh.
Korean Golf Club also revealed its new logo, featuring the "Baekho," or white tiger, along with the rose of Sharon, Korea's national flower. LIV Golf characterized the white tiger as a symbol of strength, protection, and resilience in Korean history and folklore, while the rose of Sharon represents Korea's resilient spirit and enduring beauty.
LIV Golf, launched in 2022, held its inaugural tournament in Korea in May 2025 at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea in Incheon. Although earlier reports indicated LIV Golf would return to Korea from May 29-31 in 2026, there were no Korean stops listed on the tour's official website as of this writing. LIV Golf has stated that two additional venues for the 2026 season will be announced later.
