NC Dinos second baseman and captain Park Min-woo has established himself as one of the top contact hitters in Korean baseball since his debut in 2013, boasting a lifetime batting average of .319, which ranks third among all active players with at least 3,000 plate appearances.
As the new season approaches, Park aims to gain recognition for his defensive skills in addition to his batting prowess. In 2025, he achieved a batting average of .302, marking his third consecutive season above .300 and his ninth overall in the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO). He also received his first KBO Fielding Award for his performance at second base.
During the team's first meeting of the year on Monday, Park expressed his desire to win the Fielding Award again. "After the last season ended, I tried to shed some weight and put myself in shape to be able to play a lot of games," he stated. "My goal this year is to win my second consecutive Fielding Award."
At 32 years old, Park has transformed his defensive game, overcoming early career struggles with simple plays. He has emerged as the leading defensive second baseman, succeeding former Kiwoom Heroes star Kim Hye-seong, who won the Fielding Award in 2023 and 2024 before joining the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Park acknowledged the challenges he faced with injuries, having missed 27 games last year and 23 games in 2024. "I read an interview where my manager said he was worried that I wouldn't be able to handle a heavy workload," he said. "And that motivated me to work really hard this offseason. I want to be able to play more games this year."
This season marks Park's second year as captain, alongside manager Lee Ho-joon. Park noted their strong rapport, saying, "We had great chemistry last year, and we will continue to follow his direction this year." He recalled an emotional moment when Lee expressed his feelings about the team's dedication during the postseason.
Reflecting on the previous season, Park remarked, "It was such a dramatic turn of events that we were able to get into the postseason given the circumstances. This year, we don't want to stop in the wild card round and want to start our postseason journey at an even higher place."

NC 다이노스의 2루수이자 주장인 박민우는 2013년 데뷔 이후 한국 야구에서 최고의 접촉 타자로 자리매김해왔다. 평생 타율 0.319를 기록하며 3,000타석 이상 소화한 현역 선수 중 타율 3위에 올라있다.
하지만 박민우는 다가오는 시즌에 단순히 강력한 방망이 이상으로 인정받고 싶어한다.
2025년에는 0.302의 타율을 기록하며 KBO리그에서 3년 연속 0.300 이상을 유지했고, 그의 KBO 경력에서 아홉 번째로 0.300 기록을 세웠다. 또한 그는 2루수 부문에서 첫 KBO 필딩상을 수상했다.
신년 첫 회의에서 박민우는 리그 최고의 수비 상을 재탈환하고 싶다고 밝혔다.
“지난 시즌이 끝난 후 체중을 줄이고 많은 경기를 할 수 있도록 준비했다”고 창원 NC 파크에서 박민우가 말했다. “올해의 목표는 두 번째 연속 필딩상을 수상하는 것입니다.”
32세의 박민우는 초기 경력에서는 간단한 플레이를 실패하는 경우가 많았다. 그러나 최근 몇 년 동안 큰 발전을 이뤄 전 Kiwoom 히어로즈의 스타인 김혜성의 자리를 대신해 최고의 수비 2루수가 되었다. 김혜성은 2023년과 2024년에 필딩상을 수상한 후 로스앤젤레스 다저스에 사인했다.
“내 감독님(이호준)이 내가 힘든 일정에 적응할 수 없을 것 같아 걱정했다는 인터뷰를 읽었다”며 “그것이 나에게 큰 동기 부여가 됐다. 이번 오프시즌에 정말 열심히 훈련했다. 올해는 더 많은 경기를 뛰고 싶다”고 박민우가 덧붙였다.
올해는 박민우의 주장 첫 해이며 이 감독 역시 두 번째 해를 맡게 된다. 박민우는 두 사람이 초반부터 같은 방향을 공유해왔다고 말했다.
“작년에는 훌륭한 화합을 이뤘고, 올해도 감독님의 지시를 따르겠다”고 박민우가 말했다. “작년 포스트시즌 동안 언론 앞에서 울었다는 이야기를 들었다. 올해는 그를 더 많이 울리게 하고 싶다.”
박민우가 언급한 것은 삼성 라이온즈와의 와일드카드 2차전 전 미디어 스크럼이다. 다이노스는 박민우를 포함한 주요 선수의 부상에도 불구하고 정규 시즌 마지막 9연승을 기록하며 포스트시즌에 진출했지만, 결국 우세한 라이온즈에게 아쉽게도 패배했다.
“이런 상황에서 포스트시즌에 진출할 수 있었던 것은 극적인 일이었다”며 박민우는 “감독님이 우리 모두의 헌신에 감정적으로 반응하신 것 같다. 올해는 와일드카드 라운드에서 멈추지 않고 훨씬 높은 곳에서 포스트시즌 여정을 시작하고 싶다”고 밝혔다.
