Actor Lee Je-hoon returns as Kim Do-gi in the third season of the SBS series “Taxi Driver.”
A press conference for the new Friday-Saturday drama was held at the SBS headquarters in Mokdong, Seoul, featuring director Kang Bo-seung and cast members Lee Je-hoon, Kim Eui-sung, Pyo Ye-jin, Jang Hyuk-jin, and Bae Yoo-ram.
Based on the webtoon of the same name, “Taxi Driver 3” continues the narrative of the clandestine taxi company Rainbow Transport and its vigilante driver Kim Do-gi, who seeks justice for victims let down by the legal system.
The series ranks third in SBS’s Friday-Saturday drama history, with Kang returning as lead director after serving as assistant director in season 1.
Lee stated at the press event, “This season will be intense right from the start. Not only will my character, Kim Do-gi, be stronger, but the other members of Rainbow Transport will bring their own powerful side stories. We’ve prepared a gripping and satisfying experience.”
Season 2 of “Taxi Driver” became the fifth most-watched Korean drama across terrestrial and cable channels in 2023, achieving a peak rating of 21 percent. Given the success of the previous seasons, expectations for the third season are notably high.
Lee acknowledged the pressure, saying, “We received so much love for the first two seasons, so of course there’s pressure. But I feel that the bonds between the characters have only deepened over time.”
He added, “When we first started, no one expected a second or third season. It's all thanks to the viewers. We’ll repay your support with thrilling entertainment this time as well.”
The main cast returns, with Lee as Kim Do-gi, Kim Eui-sung as Jang Sung-chul, Pyo Ye-jin as Ahn Go-eun, Jang Hyuk-jin as Choi Kyung-gu, and Bae Yoo-ram as Park Jin-eon, showcasing their established chemistry.
“After spending so much time together, the line between our real personalities and our characters has faded,” Lee remarked. “The chemistry you see on screen now comes very close to how we are in real life.”
“Taxi Driver 3” is set to premiere on Nov. 21 at 9:50 p.m. on SBS.

배우 이제훈이 SBS 인기 드라마 “택시운전사”의 세 번째 시즌에서 김도기를 다시 연기한다.
새로운 금토드라마에 대한 기자회견이 서울 목동 SBS 본사에서 열렸다. 감독 강보승과 출연진인 이제훈, 김의성, 표예진, 장혁진, 배유람이 참석했다.
동명의 웹툰을 기반으로 한 “택시운전사 3”은 비밀 택시 회사 레인보우 운수와 법적 시스템에 의해 피해를 입은 사람들을 대신해 정의를 실행하는 자경단 운전사 김도기의 이야기를 계속한다.
이 시리즈는 SBS 금토드라마 역사에서 3위를 기록했으며, 시즌 1에서 조감독으로서 프로그램의 세계관을 구축한 강 감독이 주연 감독으로 돌아온다.
기자회견에서 이제훈은 “이번 시즌은 시작부터 강렬할 것”이라고 말했다. “내 캐릭터 김도기가 강해질 뿐만 아니라, 레인보우 운수의 다른 멤버들이 각자의 강력한 서사를 가져올 것이다. 흥미롭고 만족스러운 경험을 준비했다.”
“택시운전사” 시즌 2는 2023년 지상파 및 케이블 채널에서 다섯 번째로 많이 시청된 한국 드라마로, 최고 시청률 21%를 기록했다. 이전 두 시즌의 성공으로 인해 세 번째 시즌에 대한 기대와 압박이 높다.
이제훈은 이 도전을 인정하며 “앞의 두 시즌에 많은 사랑을 받았기 때문에 압박감이 있다. 하지만 캐릭터 간의 유대감은 시간이 지날수록 더욱 깊어졌다고 느낀다.”고 말했다.
그는 “처음 시작했을 때 그 누구도 두 번째나 세 번째 시즌을 예상하지 못했다. 모두 시청자 덕분이다. 이번에도 여러분의 응원에 보답하기 위해 스릴 넘치는 엔터테인먼트를 제공하겠다.”고 덧붙였다.
주요 출연진인 이제훈(김도기), 김의성(장성철), 표예진(안고은), 장혁진(최경구), 배유람(박진언)은 그들의 독특한 케미스트리로 돌아온다.
“서로 많은 시간을 보내다 보니, 우리의 실제 성격과 캐릭터의 경계가 흐려졌다.”고 이제훈은 말했다. “현재 화면에서 보이는 케미스트리는 우리가 실제로 어떻게 지내는지를 잘 보여준다.”
