KT has introduced a new subscription-based international calling service, 001 Global Free, aimed at providing affordable international calls for a fixed monthly fee.
The subscription plan offers up to 120 minutes of free international calls each month for 7,700 won ($5.50). After utilizing the free minutes, users can make additional calls at a discounted rate of 3.3 won per second, which represents an 86 percent reduction compared to standard international calling rates.
This service is available to all mobile subscribers, regardless of their carrier, while KT customers also benefit from landline support.
KT stated that the service is designed to address the increasing global business needs, the rise in international students, and the growing presence of K-culture, which has led to more foreigners residing in Korea.
To celebrate the launch, the company is offering a 50 percent discount on the first month’s subscription fee for those who sign up by October 31. The service can be accessed through the company’s official website, the My KT app, and KT retail stores.
A KT official remarked, “As global communication becomes a part of daily life, KT will continue to introduce innovative services that meet customer needs and make international calling easier and more affordable, anytime and anywhere.”
The company has been enhancing its efforts to attract foreign users with tailored services. Last April, KT launched three 5G subscription plans specifically for expatriates, which include benefits for making international calls within the plans’ 200-minute call limits. This plan will be available until the end of this year.

서비스 출시를 기념하기 위해, 회사는 10월 31일까지 가입하는 모든 사용자에게 첫 달 구독료를 50% 할인한다고 밝혔다. 이 서비스는 회사의 공식 웹사이트 KT.com, My KT 앱 및 KT 소매점에서 이용할 수 있다.

회사는 맞춤형 서비스로 외국인 사용자를 유치하기 위한 노력을 강화해왔다.
지난 4월, KT는 해외 거주자를 위한 세 가지 5G 구독 요금제를 출시했으며, 이 요금제는 전체 200분 통화 한도 내에서 국제 전화를 할 수 있는 혜택을 포함하고 있다. 이 요금제는 올해 말까지 제공된다.
