Yoon's approval rating hits new low: poll

President Yoon Suk Yeol visited Gangseo Fire Station in Seoul to show support to the on-duty firefighters during the Chuseok holiday. Additionally, he posed for a commemorative photo with them. However, a recent poll conducted by Realmeter and commissioned by a local news outlet revealed that President Yoon's approval rating has dropped to its lowest level since taking office in May 2022. The survey indicated that Yoon's positive rating now stands at 27 percent, a decrease of 2.9 percentage points from the previous week and the third consecutive week that his approval rating has fallen below 30 percent. The decline in approval was attributed to diminishing support among conservative voters and widespread dissatisfaction over high prices during the Chuseok holiday, which contradicts the government's optimistic predictions for increased domestic spending. As a result, the negative assessment of President Yoon rose by 2.6 percentage points to a record high of 68.7 percent. The survey, which was conducted from Monday to Friday last week on 2,503 adults, has a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points and a confidence level of 95 percent.
