Ex-President Moon accuses Yoon gov't of creating 'most dangerous' state since Korean War

Former President Moon Jae-in strongly criticized the North Korea policies of the current Yoon Suk Yeol administration, stating that they have created the most dangerous situation on the Korean Peninsula since the Korean War. Moon, known for his diplomatic approach to North Korea aimed at achieving lasting peace, denounced Yoon's administration for prioritizing 'peace by strength' over dialogue, which he believes worsens the situation and undermines previous efforts to build trust with North Korea. Moon highlighted the suspension of military tension reduction measures by the Yoon government in response to North Korea's provocations, leading to a heightened risk of military conflict. He expressed concerns about the escalating tensions and called for South Korea to pursue balanced diplomacy, act as a mediator for peace, and prioritize inter-Korean dialogue before engaging in talks with the United States regarding North Korea's denuclearization. Moon also urged North Korea to abandon its nuclear weapons and return to the negotiating table, criticizing leader Kim Jong-un for viewing inter-Korean relations in a hostile manner contrary to the desires of the Korean people for peace and unification.
