Korea sits in second place with three points and can advance to the knockout round with a win or a draw against South Africa at Estadio Monterrey on Wednesday, or with favorable results elsewhere.</p><p class="editor-p">Korea could also advance as one of the eight best third-place teams if they lose to South Africa and Mexico defeats or draws with Czechia, while a double loss for Korea and Mexico would eliminate Korea.</p><p class="editor-p">The team will face hotter and more humid conditions in Monterrey, with Estadio Monterrey identified as one of the tournament’s hotter venues.</p>

태극전사들은 몬테레이 남쪽의 과달라하라 인근에서 지난 2주가 넘도록 연습해 왔으며, 조별리그의 첫 두 경기를 그곳에서 치렀다. 한국은 6월 11일 체코를 상대로 2-1 승리를 거두었으나, 지난 목요일 멕시코에 0-1로 패했다.
