Subway stations near major mountains in Seoul saw increased traffic as more visitors headed to hiking trails.
An official transit agency said ridership at six key hiking-access stations rose by an average of 11.5 percent on April 11 compared with the same day a year earlier.
Achasan Station recorded the sharpest rise, with average daily passenger traffic reaching about 34,000, up 21.9 percent from a year earlier. Dobongsan Station followed with a 16.6 percent increase.
