JYP Entertainment's seven-member boy band KickFlip released its fourth mini-album, "My First Kick," and the lead single "Eye-Poppin'," continuing the group's bright, energetic image.
The release follows September's "My First Flip," which topped charts with more than 400,000 copies sold in its first week. This project positions the group at the start of their twenties, framing it as a prologue and a leap into youth.
Ahead of the release, the group shared the album's concept with reporters at a media showcase in Seoul. One member, Amaru, did not attend due to health reasons.
Members described their growth as a performance-focused group, highlighting strong chemistry and on-stage energy as core strengths. The title track "Eye-Poppin'" is described as a hyper-punk dance song built around a direct confession of affection, reinforcing the "flirting pros" image the group has cultivated in appearances on variety programs.
Live performances at the showcase featured the six-members onstage delivering a lively, if not perfectly synchronized, display that suggested a youthful, energetic vibe. One member, Kyehoon, contributed to writing and composing the title track, emphasizing a desire to create a memorable impression and to be recognized as a group.
All seven tracks on the album are credited to the group, including the title track, prerelease "Twenty," and B-sides "Stup!d," "Backward," "Scroll," "Roar," and "My Direction." Since debuting in January 2025, KickFlip has earned local awards and performed at major festivals, with a recent fan-concert tour expanding their live experience.
The members noted a balance between maintaining bright energy and presenting a more mature side as they enter their early twenties, signaling growth while preserving the group's distinctive, upbeat style.
