The Dodgers defeated the Giants 3-0 at Oracle Park in San Francisco on Thursday, with Kim Hye-seong starting at shortstop and batting eighth, going 2-for-4 with an RBI and driving in the Dodgers’ third run with a fourth-inning single.
The Dodgers had dropped the previous two games of the series by a combined 6-1, but limited the Giants to just one hit in the shutout victory.
Kim added his second hit with a single in the ninth inning, raising his batting average from .300 to .324.
Lee Jung-hoo went 0-for-3 for the Giants, grounding into a 6-4-3 double play in the bottom of the second after a runner reached first, and later flied out to center in the fifth and popped out to first in the eighth.
Lee’s batting average is now .253.
The Giants took two of three in the series, which marked the first meeting this season between Kim and Lee, the two Koreans in Major League Baseball at the time.

반면 이정후는 3타수 무안타로 부진했다. 2회 말 1루 주자 상황에서 유격수 김에게 땅볼을 쳐 6-4-3 병살타를 기록했고, 5회에는 센터로 플라이 아웃, 8회에는 1루로 팝아웃했다. 타율은 .253으로 남았다.
이 시리즈에서 Giants가 2승 1패로 우위를 차지했다. 이번 시즌에 김과 이의 만남은 현 시즌 메이저리그에 남아 있는 두 한국 선수의 첫 대결이기도 했다.
