Asiana Airlines has launched a new route to Hungary as part of its plan to expand its European network.
The airline will operate three weekly flights on the Incheon–Budapest route, starting with the inaugural flight this Friday, according to a press release.
With the Budapest service, the carrier now serves nine cities across eight European countries, including Germany, France, Italy, Britain, Spain, Turkey, the Czech Republic and Hungary.
Globally, the airline operates 68 passenger aircraft on 59 international routes serving 54 cities in 20 countries, along with seven domestic routes connecting six cities.
Separately, the carrier completed the sale of its cargo business to Air Incheon Co. last year for 470 billion won ($342 million).
아시아나항공은 유럽 네트워크 확장을 위한 노력의 일환으로 헝가리 노선을 개설했다고 금요일 밝혔다. 항공사는 인천-부다페스트 노선에 대해 주 3회의 운항을 시작하며, 회사가 발표한 보도자료에 따라 첫 비행편이 금요일에 출발했다. 부다페스트 추가로 아시아나항공은 현재 독일, 프랑스, 이탈리아, 영국, 스페인, 터키, 체코, 헝가리 등 8개국의 9개 도시로 운항하고 있다. 전 세계적으로 해당 항공사는 59개 국제노선에서 54개 도시를 대상으로 68대의 여객기를 운용하고 있으며, 6개 도시에 연결되는 7개 국내 노선도 운영 중이다. 한편 아시아나항공은 작년에 화물 사업을 국내 유일의 전용 화물 항공사인 에어 인천에 매각해 4700억 원(342백만 달러)을 기록했다.
