A Brazilian national has been indicted while in custody for allegedly stalking a member of a popular K-pop group and trespassing at the artist’s residence in Seoul. Prosecutors said the suspect was indicted last week on charges of stalking and trespassing.
The accused is said to have visited the artist’s home around 20 times, ringing the doorbell or leaving letters from December to January.
The suspect told prosecutors the acts were carried out “out of love” for the artist.
The individual was initially apprehended in December but released after an arrest, with police previously restricting the suspect from approaching within 100 meters of the residence in Yongsan District.
Authorities referred the case to prosecutors in February following continued attempts to visit the residence.
프로씨큐터스에 따르면 화요일 그들은 서울에서 BTS의 정국을 스토킹하고 거주지 침입 혐의로 구금 중인 브라질 국적자의 기소를 발표했다. 서울서부지방검찰청은 지난주 이 여성을 스토킹범죄의 처벌 등에 관한 법률 위반 및 침입 혐의로 기소했다고 밝혔다. 용의자는 지난해 12월부터 1월까지 약 20차례에 걸쳐 정국의 집을 방문해 초인종을 누르거나 편지를 남겼다고 한다. 피의자는 검찰에 대해 이러한 행위를 “정국에 대한 사랑에서” 저질렀다고 진술했다. 그 여성은 처음 현장에서 붙잡혀 12월에 체포되었으나 이후 석방됐다. 경찰은 피의자가 서울 용산구에 있는 스타의 주거지에서 100미터 이내로 접근하지 못하도록 금지했다. 경찰은 피의자가 정국의 집 방문을 계속 시도한 뒤 2월에 검찰에 송치했다.
