All five opening-day games of the 2026 South Korean baseball season were played before sellout crowds, marking another strong start to the league’s attendance drive.
The season opened with all five games sold out for the fourth consecutive year, according to the Korea Baseball Organization.
The LG Twins, defending champions, hosted the KT Wiz in Seoul before 23,750 fans at Jamsil Baseball Stadium. In Daejeon, 17,000 spectators attended the Hanwha Eagles’ opener against the Kiwoom Heroes at Hanwha Life Ballpark.
The SSG Landers faced the Kia Tigers before 23,000 fans at Incheon’s SSG Landers Field, while Daegu hosted the Samsung Lions versus the Lotte Giants before 24,000 spectators at Daegu Samsung Lions Park.
Changwon saw the NC Dinos host the Doosan Bears with 18,128 attendees at Changwon NC Park.
Saturday’s total attendance reached 105,878, ranking third in opening-day records behind 114,021 in 2019 and 109,950 in 2025, with the league having set a season attendance record of about 12.3 million last year.
