The women’s tournament features 10 teams, with the top four after nine round-robin games advancing to the semifinals. Kim Su-ji has said it would likely require at least six wins to reach the knockout stage for South Korea.
South Korea opens against Japan on Feb. 12, with Italy, the host nation, on the same day. The team will also face Switzerland on Feb. 17 and Canada on Feb. 19, with all games played at the Cortina Curling Olympic Stadium in Cortina d’Ampezzo, about 400 kilometers northeast of Milan.
South Korea did not qualify for the men’s competition but will compete in mixed doubles, featuring Kim Seon-yeong and Jeong Yeong-seok. Kim Seon-yeong previously competed in the 2018 and 2022 Olympics and will become the first South Korean curler to attend three consecutive Winter Games, while Jeong Yeong-seok will be making his Olympic debut. The pair earned their spot at the last-chance qualifying event in Canada in December and will begin their Olympics with a round-robin match against Sweden, marking the delegation’s first official event of the Games.
The mixed doubles format mirrors the women’s competition, with 10 countries participating in round-robin play to determine the four teams advancing to the next phase.

김선영은 2018년과 2022년 모두 김은정 팀에서 활약했으며, 이번 대회로 한국 선수로는 세 차례 연속 겨울 올림픽에 출전하게 된다. 정영석은 이번이 처음 올림픽이다.
