Ice dancers Hannah Lim and Quan Ye of Korea delivered a performance described as satisfying in their Olympic debut during the rhythm dance portion of the team event at the Milano Ice Skating Arena in Milan, with teammates and family cheering them on.
They scored 70.55 points in the rhythm dance and stood seventh among 10 teams in the team event. The United States pair Madison Chock and Evan Bates led the standings with 91.06 points. In the team event, points are awarded based on placements across ice dance, pairs, and the men’s and women’s singles, with the top placement earning 10 points and subsequent placements earning fewer points; Lim and Quan accrued four points for Korea.
Lim said she was “really satisfied” with their performance and was touched by the support from teammates, noting the event felt very different from world championships and carried a high level of excitement. She also said she thought of her mother just before the routine, with her mother and aunt in attendance and later texting her after the performance, while Quan shared his mother’s encouragement from afar, urging him to have fun and live his dream.
During the team competition, skaters not competing in Friday’s events acted as cheerleaders in the Kiss & Cry zone, with some participants using props or costumes. In the mixed zone, Lim carried a bow headband with Korean flags and Quan wore toy sunglasses as mementos.
Quan acknowledged a bit of nervousness before the music began, describing the Olympic moment as markedly different from practice due to the larger crowd and heightened expectations. He had previously battled a cold but said his health had improved by the day, though he occasionally coughed after interviews and noted he felt better on the ice than off it.

팀 이벤트에서는 아이스댄스, 페어, 남녀 싱글 부문의 순위에 따라 점수를 부여한다. 1위는 10점, 2위는 9점으로 점수가 정해진다. Lim과 Quan은 한국에 4점을 기록했다.
Lim은 "오늘의 퍼포먼스에 정말 만족한다. 팀 동료들의 응원이 큰 감동이었다. 월드 챔피언십과는 매우 다른 신세계였다. 현장의 분위기가 아주 흥분됐다"고 말했다.
Lim은 리듬 댄스가 시작되기 직전에 Will Smith의 곡들인 "Men in Black", "Pump Me Up", "Gettin' Jiggy wit It"에 맞춰 생각했고, Lim의 어머니와 이모가 금요일 관중석에 있었지만 엄마의 위치를 찾지 못했다고 미소로 전했다. 다만 나중에 문자로 소식을 받았다.
Quan은 그의 어머니가 개인전이 열리는 다음 주에 여기 올 예정이라고 밝히며 "엄마가 멀리서 응원해 주신다"라고 말했다. 그는 "엄마가 그냥 즐기라고, 너무 많이 생각하지 말고 꿈을 살아가라고 했다"고 덧붙였다.
팀 대회 동안 경기에 참가하지 않는 선수들—이번 경우엔 남자 싱글 Cha Jun-hwan, Kim Hyun-gyeom, Lee Hae-in—은 Kiss & Cry 존에서 응원단 역할을 맡는다. 한국 선수들을 포함한 많은 선수들이 소품을 들고 의상을 착용해 분위기를 더했다.
믹스드 존에서 Lim은 한국 국기가 달린 활 모양의 헤어밴드를 들고 있었고, Quan은 팀 동료들로부터 한 쌍의 장난감 선글라스를 받아 쓰고 있었다.
Quan은 음악이 시작되기 전 "살짝 긴장했다"고 인정했지만, 첫 올림픽 순간을 평소 훈련처럼 보려 애썼다고 말했다. "올림픽 무대에 처음 올라선 느낌은 우리가 보통 느끼는 것과 완전히 달랐다. 관중이 더 밝고 규모도 크며 기대도 다르다. 건강은 그리 좋지 않았지만 오늘 한 일에 대해 전반적으로 꽤 만족한다. 나는 모든 관중이 우리를 응원하는 모습을 보며 다시 어릴 적처럼 기쁘다."라고 덧붙였다.
Quan은 이번 주 초에 감기에 걸렸다고 밝히며 금요일에는 병세가 나아졌다고 했지만, 미디어 이용 시간에는 기자들에게서 자주 벗어나 팔꿈치로 기침을 가리는 모습이 목격됐다. 그는 "유산소 운동을 할 때 목이 아파지지만 그 밖에는 상태가 좋다. 훈련 외에는 크게 기침하지 않으며 오늘 경기를 뛸 때는 기침이 없었고, 이후에 그랬다"고 말했다.
