The arrival hall at Milan Malpensa Airport turned into a frenzy Thursday as a K-pop star arrived ahead of the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics. The ENHYPEN member drew a crowd of local fans who packed the terminal, shouting his name and scrambling for photos as he moved through the crowd.
Sunghoon, 23, touched down alongside the South Korean national figure skating team. Dozens of local fans swarmed the terminal, creating a chaotic but celebratory scene as they clamored for photos and autographs from the idol.
The moment bridged two worlds for Sunghoon. Before debuting as a singer, he was a competitive figure skater and a reserve member of the national team. Since May 2025, he has also served as a goodwill ambassador for the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee.
His visit to Milan is not just symbolic. Sunghoon was selected as an official torchbearer for the Games, joining Jin as one of only two K-pop artists chosen for an Olympic torch relay outside Korea. ENHYPEN’s track “SHOUT OUT” has also been named the official cheer song for Team Korea.
“Knowing the passion and effort of our national athletes, who have worked tirelessly for the Winter Olympics, I support them wholeheartedly,” Sunghoon said. “Competing in the Olympics was my dream when I was a figure skater. I’m happy to feel as if I’ve fulfilled that dream in a different way as a singer.”
Ahead of Sunghoon’s arrival, Cha Jun-hwan, the 24-year-old star of the men’s figure skating team, was greeted with applause, bouquets and gift bags from supporters who gathered to welcome him.
Cha Jun-hwan is entering his third Olympic Games. He previously finished 15th at PyeongChang 2018 and achieved a career-best fifth at Beijing 2022. He expressed excitement about competing in both the team event and the individual singles, and said he aims to set an early tone and build momentum starting from the team competition.

성훈(23)은 한국 올림픽 대표단의 대사로 활동하는 가운데 한국 피겨스케이팅 남자 대표팀과 함께 도착했다. 수십 명의 현지 팬들이 터미널에 몰려들어 노래와 사진 촬영을 요구하는 등 혼잡하지만 축제 분위기가 연출됐다.
그의 방문은 두 세계가 만나는 순간이기도 했다. 성훈은 가수로 데뷔하기 전 경쟁 선수로 활동했고 남한 국�가 대표팀의 예비 선수 자격이 있었다. 2025년 5월부터는 한국 스포츠‧올림픽위원회의 홍보 대사로도 활동하고 있다.
목요일 밀라노의 Villa Necchi Campiglio에 위치한 Korea House에서 가진 기자간담회에 참석했고, 올림픽 성화 봉송 공식 대사로도 선정됐다. 성훈은 외국에서 선발된 두 명의 K-팝 아티스트 중 한 명으로 올림픽 성화 봉송에 참여한다는 소식과 함께 ENHYPEN의 곡 SHOUT OUT이 팀 코리아의 공식 응원곡으로 지정되었다고 밝혔다.
소속사를 통해 성훈은 “겨울 올림픽에 전념해 온 우리 선수들의 열정과 노력에 전폭적으로 지지한다”며 “올림픽에서의 경쟁은 어릴 적 꿈이었는데, 가수로서 다른 방식으로 그 꿈을 이룬 기분이다”라고 말했다.
성훈의 도착 직후 남자 피겨스케이팅 대표 차준환도 환영의 박수와 함께 터미널에 등장해 꽃다발과 선물 가방으로 환영받았다. 차준환은 24세로 팬들의 환호를 받으며 사인을 남겼다.
차준환은 이번 올림픽이 세 번째 출전이며, 2018년 평창 대회에서 한국 남자 피겨의 15위를 기록했고 2022년 베이징 대회에서 개인전 최고 5위를 달성했다. “너무 기대된다. 팀전과 개인전 두 종목에 출전하므로 팀전에서 분위기를 먼저 만들고 모멘텀을 키우고 싶다”고 말했다.
이 두 선수의 방문은 현지에서 한국 선수단에 대한 뜨거운 응원을 확인시키며, 올림픽 준비에 대한 관심을 불러일으켰다.
