T.O.P, a former member of the popular K-pop group BIGBANG, is set to make a comeback as a solo artist this year, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of his debut.
The rapper announced his return on social media, stating that "A new album is on the way."
A brief video accompanying the announcement featured him writing the phrase "Another Dimension" in both Korean and English on a white sheet of paper, suggesting it may be the title of his upcoming album.
The release date for the album has not yet been disclosed.
This upcoming project will mark T.O.P's first release in 13 years, following the digital single "Doom Dada" in 2013, and his first musical endeavor since officially leaving BIGBANG in 2023.
T.O.P debuted with BIGBANG in 2006 and gained recognition as both a rapper and actor. His entertainment activities were suspended after he was involved in a drug scandal in 2017, resulting in a 10-month prison sentence, which was suspended for two years, due to marijuana use.
Last year, he returned to acting, featuring in Netflix's "Squid Game" Season 2, released in December 2024.
In a January interview regarding the series, he expressed remorse towards his fellow BIGBANG members, stating, "The mistake I made was so serious that it feels as though 10 years of my life have been put on hold. I'm so ashamed that it seems far too late for me to return."
