Noh Seung-yul of Korea teed off on the third hole during the final round of the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship at Ohio State University Golf Club in Columbus, Ohio, on September 21.
In the first round of the final PGA Tour qualifying event, all three Korean players found themselves trailing the lead. Noh Seung-yul emerged as the top-performing Korean, shooting a one-under 69 on the Dye's Valley Course at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. He recorded three birdies and two bogeys, placing him five strokes behind the leader, Korean American Chan Kim.
The top five players in this event will receive their PGA Tour cards for the 2026 season, while the next 40 finishers and ties will obtain membership for the second-tier Korn Ferry Tour.
Noh, 34, has one PGA Tour title, the 2014 Zurich Classic of New Orleans. He gained full PGA Tour membership for the 2012 season but has had a fluctuating presence on the tour since then.
Two other Korean players, Ok Tae-hoon and Bae Yong-jun, both shot two-over 72, tying for 110th place. Ok played on the Dye's Valley Course, while Bae began his round at Sawgrass Country Club.
Ok secured a direct entry to the final stage after winning the Player of the Year points race on the Korea PGA Tour this past season. Bae, who finished fifth in that race, had to advance through the second stage to reach this point.
Ok's round started with a double bogey on the par-5 first hole, followed by three birdies and three bogeys over his remaining holes. Bae also recorded a double bogey on the par-4 13th hole, finishing with two birdies and two bogeys.
The 72-hole stroke play event is scheduled to conclude on Sunday.

옥은 지난 시즌 한국 PGA 투어에서 올해의 선수 포인트 경쟁에서 우승하여 마지막 단계에 직접 진출했다. 그 경쟁에서 5위에 오른 배는 이 지점에 도달하기 위해 두 번째 단계를 통과해야 했다.
옥은 첫 홀에서 더블 보기를 기록하며 라운드를 시작했고, 이후 17홀에서 3개의 버디와 3개의 보기를 기록했다.
