Toss, operated by Viva Republica, announced that it will waive international remittance fees for foreign customers in Korea through December. This initiative will apply to four countries: the U.S., China, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.
The decision aims to enhance the experience of foreign customers utilizing Toss’s financial services, which are known for their convenience and security. Last month, Toss introduced an international remittance service for foreign customers in collaboration with SentBe, a global remittance platform that facilitates money transfers widely used in Korea.
Friday’s announcement marks a continuation of the “Free Transfers for Life” campaign, which was launched in 2021 to permanently eliminate fees for domestic money transfers. Toss reported that users have saved a total of 2 trillion won (approximately $1.43 billion) in domestic transfer fees under this program.
Approximately 1.5 million long-term foreign residents in Korea will benefit from the fee waiver, allowing them to send money to their home countries without incurring additional charges. These residents represent 64 percent of the total 2.19 million long-term residents in the country.

이번 조치는 외국 고객이 Toss의 편리하고 안전한 금융 서비스를 경험하는 데 도움을 주기 위한 것이다. Toss는 지난달 글로벌 송금 플랫폼인 SentBe와 협력하여 외국 고객을 위한 국제 송금 서비스를 출시했다.
금요일 발표된 결정은 2021년 시작된 "평생 무료 송금" 고객 캠페인의 지속적인 확장으로, 해당 캠페인은 국내 거래에 대한 송금 수수료를 영구적으로 면제하는 것을 목표로 하고 있다. Toss에 따르면, 이 프로그램을 통해 사용자들은 총 2조 원(약 14억 3천만 달러)의 국내 송금 수수료를 절감했다.
약 150만 명의 장기 외국 거주자는 추가 비용 없이 본국으로 송금을 할 수 있으며, 이들은 한국 내 전체 219만 명의 장기 거주자의 64%를 차지한다.
