LG Electronics plans to unveil a new artificial intelligence (AI)-based high-performance computing (HPC) solution for automobiles, developed in collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, at a major consumer electronics trade show in the United States next month.
The company will showcase the AI Cabin Platform for automakers, designed for use in the digital cockpits of advanced vehicles, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas in January.
The AI Cabin Platform incorporates various generative AI tools, including vision and image generation models, to improve drivers' experiences within automobiles' infotainment systems.
LG Electronics stated that this collaboration will position the company to lead the AI-defined vehicles (AIDV) industry, moving beyond the existing software-defined vehicle (SDV) segment.
"Based on the verified technology and credibility in the global market, we will expand our strong business collaboration to lead the transition to AIDV from SDV," said an executive vice president of LG Electronics.

회사는 이 협력이 LG전자가 기존 소프트웨어 정의 차량(SDV) 부문을 넘어 AI 정의 차량(AIDV) 산업을 선도하는 데 도움이 될 것이라고 덧붙였다.
LG전자의 유운석 부사장은 "글로벌 시장에서 검증된 기술과 신뢰성을 바탕으로 SDV에서 AIDV로의 전환을 선도하기 위해 강력한 사업 협력을 확대할 것"이라고 말했다.
