Korea's Hyundai Motor Group announced the unveiling of its first mass-produced mobility robot platform, the Mobile Eccentric Droid (MobED), at the International Robot Exhibition 2025 (iREX 2025) in Tokyo.
Initially introduced as a concept at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in 2022, MobED has been developed into a production-ready, fully autonomous mobility robot platform powered by artificial intelligence (AI).
"Beyond a simple mobility platform, MobED offers a next-generation solution adaptable to diverse industries and everyday life. It will set new standards in the global robotics market and accelerate a future where humans and robots coexist," stated a representative from Hyundai Motor Group Robotics LAB.
The company presented two versions of MobED: MobED Basic, aimed at research and development, and MobED Pro, which features enhanced autonomous capabilities.
These models are designed to provide flexibility for evolving industrial needs and to expand the applications of robotics technology.
Hyundai Motor Group intends to commence mass production of MobED in the first half of 2026 for customer delivery.

그룹은 연구 및 개발을 위한 기반으로 설계된 MobED Basic과 고급 자율 기능이 탑재된 MobED Pro의 두 가지 버전을 소개했습니다.
이 두 모델을 통해 MobED는 변화하는 산업의 요구에 대한 유연성을 제공하며 로봇 기술의 응용 분야를 넓히고 있다고 그룹은 밝혔습니다.
현대차 그룹은 2026년 상반기부터 MobED의 대량 생산을 시작하여 고객에게 배송할 계획입니다.
