Korean gaming giant Netmarble has identified an additional leak of approximately 8,000 personal data records, following a hacking incident that previously exposed the information of 6.11 million users.
The company announced the newly confirmed breach in a notice on its website, which was discovered during an internal investigation initiated after the initial cyber intrusion.
The newly leaked data comprises various information, including 3,185 customer service inquiry records from the years 2003-2004 and 2014-2021, as well as 2,022 online job applicant records from previous years.
Netmarble has reported these additional findings to the relevant authorities and has begun notifying the affected individuals.
"We sincerely apologize once again for failing to thoroughly protect our customers' valuable personal information," a company official stated. "We are fully cooperating with the authorities to determine the exact cause of the incident and will make companywide efforts to strengthen our security posture to prevent a recurrence."

한 관계자는 "고객의 소중한 개인 정보를 철저히 보호하지 못한 점에 대해 다시 한 번 진심으로 사과드립니다."라며 "우리는 사건의 정확한 원인을 파악하기 위해 당국과 전적으로 협력하고 있으며, 재발 방지를 위해 전사적인 노력을 기울일 것"이라고 말했다.
