Familiar faces from Korean variety shows, including Jung Ho-young, Sam Kim, and Raymon Kim, will participate alongside former judges and winners from other culinary competitions, such as Song Hoon and Im Seong-geun.
The Black Spoon contestants will keep their identities hidden, with only the winner allowed to reveal themselves, indicating a diverse array of underground culinary talents eager to challenge the established chefs.
Producers Kim Hak-min and Kim Eun-ji stated that this season will emphasize the skills of all participants and noted an increase in chef participation, reflecting the show's resonating spirit.
A significant concern for the new season is the ongoing controversy surrounding judge Paik Jong-won, who has faced several allegations related to his restaurant franchise's operations. As a result of these issues, Paik suspended his broadcasting activities in May.
